The Frank Buttle Trust

For more than fifty years the Frank Buttle Trust has been helping with fees of children at independent schools and at boarding schools, both independent and state. The Trust has a particular concern for children in need, though family collapse, physical or emotional or educational difficulties - a whole range of problems of the kind that children so often encounter. GSA schools have been in the forefront of accepting these children, in sharing in their support through generous bursaries and most crucially in successfully meeting their needs.

The Trust would like to hear from former beneficiaries. The Trust knows how they fare whilst at school but after they leave news dries up, unless the people concerned make the effort to keep in touch. It would be a great help to the Trust if it could have some idea of how the children they have supported cope with life as they move on to adulthood.

Did you receive help with your school fees from the Frank Buttle Trust when you were at school?
If so the Trust would like to hear from you. They know how you did at school because they received copies of our school reports but they would love to hear how you have fared since you left school. You can check out the work of the Trust is currently doing by logging on to the website www.butletrust.org.
If after looking at the site you feel prepared to write then do get in touch, either by email: info@buttletrust.org or write to The Chief Executive, The Frank Buttle Trust, Audley House, 13 palace Street, London SW1E 5HX.
Just a quick note letting them know where you went to school, when you left, what you’ve been doing since would be fine. Of course everything you say will be treated with utmost confidentiality and you can be assured nothing will be passed on to any other body or individual.

Further Education Grants

Some years ago a fund was set up to support Old Scholars who are looking for a change of career to retrain.

One-off grants are made, typically for about £500.

Old Scholars are asked to get in touch with by writing to MOSA for the attention of Susan Hartshorne at The Mount.
